Air Trooper Roger Willingale, Army Air Corps (AAC), aged 22, died as a result of a helicopter crash near Ploce Croatia, Bosnia and
Herzegowina, on 20 August 1995.
20th August 1995 Lynx Helicopter XZ668/Y, 663 Sqn. Struck the surface of the Adriatic Sea in poor weather off Croatia seven miles from Ploce while practising missile evasion manoeuvres. It turned over and sank, drowning four of the five on board.
