Comments (Adelaide Winifred Webb (1889 - )): Please note that Adelaide can be found in 1911, going by her middle name. Winifred Webb (b. 1889) Loughton, Essex (mis-transcribed on Ancestry as Longerton Essex) is an unmarried General Servant in the home of a German Shopkeeper/Butcher & his family at 279 High Road, Leytonstone. I believe her daughter born 1917 in a 'mothers & babies'home, was adopted to the man named as the father & his wife, George E. Clark and Victoria Minnie Molyneux. They had been married since 1909 and had no surviving children (they had a baby girl in 1914 who did not survive), & George likely put his name on Birth to ease the adoption. George and Minnie then emigrated to Canada. They had another baby in Canada who died. Then they had their son Albert Leonard Clark in 1922. He is now in is 90's and according to his grandaughter, he believes his mother is Adelaide. Not likely unless she had another child who they adopted?? I would assume he had see his birth certificate?? But all facts and records bear out my version: birth records, marriage records, passenger & immigration records, census records etc. Interesting puzzle. Regards, Tricia
