| Notes |
- In the Census of 1851 Rebekah was recorded as living at 34 High Street Maldon with her husband Joseph, a Tailor and their children Edward, Ann and Rebekah along with their thirteen year old House Servant, Emma Barwell.
In 1861 - Silver Street, Maldon All Saints RG9/1089/5/3

Edward Everard Son 18 Maldon
Ann Everard Daug 13 Maldon
Rebecca Everard Daug 11 Maldon
Caroline Everard Daug 8 Maldon
In the Census of 1871 it would appear that the family was now running the local Post Office as Joseph was now a Postmaster. Ann was a Telegraphist and their daughter, Rebekah, a Postal Clerk. These three were recorded as being "Civil Servants". Caroline's occupation was not recorded. The family were recorded as living at 3 High Street Maldon, possibly the Post Office. Edward was not recorded as living at this address and his whereabouts at this time is not known.
In the Census of 1881 They were obviously still running and living at the Post Office with Ann still a Telegraphist and Caroline now a Postal Clerk. Also living with them was Edith Lindsay also a Telegraphist and Mary Mansfield their fifteen year old Domestic Servant. Their daughter, Rebekah had died in 1874. Edward was by now married and living in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
In the Census of 1891 Rebekah was now a widow and still living with her daughters, Ann and Caroline at 52 High Street, now known as the "Post Office". Ann was now the Postmistress and Caroline the Post Office Clerk. They also had a live in servant, Rose Balls age 20.
