William's father was William Ellingford, a labourer and Martha's father was Benjamin Oakley, also a labourer. Witnesses to the marriage were John Oakley and Elizabeth Knights.

  There is a birth for George Ellingford in the GRO indexes - 1850 March Qtr Orsett XII 198. Bernard Tucker has the birth certificate - 28/3/1850. George Ellingford died aged 12 on 22 September 1862 of disease of the heart and dropsy. He was buried in Horndon on the Hill on 25 September 1862.
