• Notes

  Thomas was a widower & Isabella was a widow. According to the certificate he was residing at Buckingham Road, Bermondsey. ( There was no Buckingham Road Bermondsey in 1875. The marriage certificate has been copied out by the GRO and I think they have mis-read Neckinger Road for Buckingham Road). Isabella was residing at 38, Vincent Square which was the home of Thomas's brother. His father was Thomas Hayes, farmer. Her father was William Charles Murrell, master mariner. Witnesses to the marriage were William Hayes, Thomas Hayes, Eliza Hayes, Mary Barrett.
