  Known from daughter's marriage in 1882 when he was a coal merchant. When he married in 1848 his occupation was listed as policeman. He was then living at 2 Tower Royal Court in the City of London. The 1881 census for 143 Bancroft Road, Mile End Old Town, London shows- Robert Kett, aged 57 a carman who was born in Norwich, Margt. Kett his wife aged 54 who was born in Walworth, Surrey Thomas Kett, his son aged 18 who was born in Bethnal Green, Middlesex. Robert was a coal merchant in 1883 when his wife Margaret died.
