Heny Richardson and Mary Scawthorn were bachelor and spinster, both residing in Kirton in Lindsey. Henry was of full age and Mary was 19 years and both were able to sign their names. Their fathers were Edward Richardson, a baker and Gervase (sic) Scawthorn, a labourer. Witnesses to the marriage were Elizabeth Ranyell and Thomas Hather.

William was married twice. His second marriage was to Emily Hodgson (nee Patrick), a widow with four children. When Emily died in 1932 William's occupation was motor grinder (retired).
William Henry Richardson died aged 85 on 23 November 1943 at 41 Bushfield Road, Scunthorpe of acute bronchitis and myocarditis. His occupation was given as retail coal merchant (retired) and the death was registered by his son-in-law J. H. Ellison. Grandson Peter Pattinson remembers that "Aunt Lil" used to live in Bushfield Road.
